This class has been all over the place. Some days while taking pictures the lighting was perfect and some days I was struggling to get a half decent picture. This class doesn't seem like the class that is a time consuming class, but it definitely was. One time I spent about two and a half hours trying to get a good picture and ended up coming home with literally nothing. When I first walked into this class I was not expecting much at all. I was thinking we would come in and take some amazing photos, but I quickly realized that wasn't the case. For the first photo assignment I went to take pictures and expected to be out for a few minutes.I didn't really know what I was doing nor did I know what to expect my pictures to look like. I went out, took the pictures, and came back inside. I didn't adjust any settings or anything. It wasn't until I came back to class and had my pictures on the computer that I realized that I needed to put in more effort in to get a good picture. After that, we started getting into editing. I really liked the editing part of the photo assignments not because it could turn one of my pictures into something better, but I just thought it was really fun. I thin my pictures have improved so much though these past weeks. Below shows my very first photo assignment and my very last. First photo assignment Last photo assignment

For this assignment the class went out with Mr. Bush while he rode his bike around the bus loop. The goal was to get Mr. Bush in focus and have the background blurry.
For this assignment we went out around the school with a partner and found a spot where there wouldn't be anything moving in the background. the other person went in front of the camera and did different poses. After both partners took their pictures, we went back ad started editing to hopefully get something like I have below
For our last photo assignment I tried to do kind of a tree theme. All of the pictures I took of the trees had a really cool sky behind it. I went into lightroom and messed with the temp on each picture so the blues an purples in the sky would stand out. During this assignment I learned that you can do just a little bit of editing and get a really cool photo from it. ISO 400 F/ .0 1/25 This week I decided to shoot still life. I went in my rom and cleared off my bedside stand and covered it with a black blanket. I found a bunch of random objects laying around my house and adjusted the lighting so that they would look pretty cool. During this assignment I learned exactly how much the angle of the light affects the whole picture . + ISO 400 F/4.0 1/15 During this assignment we had to go around and take pictures of the school. Later we had to come back and add things that we normally wont see at school. Over the past few weeks, I learned to be creative.
ISO 80 f/ 2.7 1/60 For photo assignment 5 I decided to do black and white. Some of my pictures are older and some of them were new. For all of them I had to turn down the saturation all the way. With most of them I made the shadows and blacks darker and the highlights and whites brighter. For this assignment I learned how you have to make the contrast between the different layers stand out more than usual.
During this assignment we had to take two different types of portrait pictures. We had to go to a window in the school and use a bounce card(right) and we also had o go to the studio and use different types of lights(left). For photo assignment 4 I decided to try food. My family and I went to Ruth's Chris is downtown Ann Arbor where I got to take pictures of a bunch of really good dishes. During this assignment I learned how important it is to have good lighting.
